On number 5 you say Columbus didn't even sail to North America. The Caribbean is in North America. North America, the planet's 3rd largest continent, includes (23) countries and dozens of possessions and territories. It contains all Caribbean

The Caribbean islands are counted as part of both north America and south America however the Caribbean islands are an independent nation and back in the days of Columbus the Caribbean wasn't a part of north America as we know it today
