Pat Askew, I also live in Southern Ontario. Never heard of a "parking lot" called a parkade.

Parkade is not generally used in Ontario. First time I have heard it attributed as a "Canadianism". Chesterfield is something my mother referred to (she was from the US). We call it a couch (family room) or a sofa (living room). Finally, #5 "keener" means all of the answers given.

In Canada, we like to lie on the couch, not the chesterfield.

Some of these aren't even slang. My grandmother always called her sofa a chesterfield and she never lived anywhere near Canada.
