I only missed the Coke question. People around here don't call all carbonated drinks a Coke.

I always associate Hold your horses with Dont jump to a quick conclusion.settle down is the same as Calm down.

I am a born and raised Southerner, living here 77+ years. I had never heard of a couple of these. And I agree that Coke is not any carbonated beverage.

L Lh Adams, we used "hold your horses" in Scotland to mean wait rather than calm down. I thought that the settle down answer was too obvious. It was the coke question that fooled me.
