Red Squirrels are native to the UK, they have been here for 10,000's years with grey squirrels being introduced from North America in the 1800's
Christopher J Voce, what makes something native is that they were, or are residents without humans introducing them. Horse chestnuts were originally introduced by humans. Wolves were originally native made extinct by humans but have now been reintroduced in Scotland. They are native as a result.
Christopher J Voce, there are plenty of Yew trees in the UK, most of which are still found in graveyards as they were planted to discourage farmers from allowing their cattle to graze due to the Yew being poisonous. Many homes have Yew hedges in their gardens too.
Odd answers - I’m sure there are no wolves in UK, just as I’m sure they’re ARE horse chestnut trees.
Unless they mean introduced species. Longbows were made of Yew, but all have been used up appropriately and so there’s no Yew trees in UK, supposedly.
