arinchaliha,
The answer to question #1 is correct. It is 9.
Like many people, you probably think multiplication is always done before division, but that is a mistake. Multiplication and division carry equal weight in solving equations, so the functions are done in the order they appear in the equation from left to right. In this case, division precedes multiplication so it is done first.

There were far to many errors in thiscquiz!
• Copper is misspelled in #5.
• "Most densest" is a double superlative, which is poor grammar.
• Which of these cities WAS not listed?

6÷2(1+2) = 3x3=9
So q1 is correct. And q5 is a typo: Cooper instead of copper.

The answers to two of the questions are wrong: Q1 and Q5. This means that I scored 10/11 not 8/11.

Trixie - Rose, the answer given as 9 is right. Division and multiplication are performed in order from left to right at the same time. You can still do the parentheses first and then multiply by the number preceding it. But the bottom line is whether you do it as (6/2) (1+2) is 3x3=9 or (3x1) +(3x2) =9 doesn’t matter. What does matter is you can’t do 2(1+2) =3 and then do (6/2) =3, then 3/3 is 1. You violate order of operations.
