Gail Cusack, Sure. The 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc. numbers decrease by 1. The 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc. increase by 2. Hence, 11 5.

Gail Cusack, First some definitions. Odd number means its order in the series. #1, #3 #5 and so on. Even number means its order in the series #2, #4, #6 and so on. Odd numbers starting at 10 decrease by 1 from the previous odd number. Even numbers starting at 3 increase by 2 from the previous even number. .

Gail Cusack, The next numbers you are looking for will be obvious if you skip a number in the given sequence. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6: the next number is 5. Then do the same thing with the numbers you skipped: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. The next number is 11. The correct option is 5 and 11. I know…everything seems easy once you know how to do it. Hope this helps.

Good observation Mr. Rice. Mr. Rankin as for the math solution to question #7. One tenth of 400 is 40. One quarter of 40 is 10. And one half of 10 is 5.
