For question number 2 the more accurate answer is buoyancy. Upthrust was the only choice given that could possibly be considered correct, but buoyancy is the right answer.

Pat Wells, True, but in common conversation, maybe someone is overcorrecting because sometimes we say "brains," as in "he blew his brains out," when brain would be tragically correct.

Mike Gilmore, it is upthrust. Remember archimedes from high school? Though displacement does play a role. Archimedes' principle states that the buoyant force or upthrust is equal to the weight of fluid displaced. An object with equal mass but a lower density occupies more volume so displaces more water; it therefore experiences a greater upthrust.

Eve , just remember, 7 being neutral, pHs of less than 7 indicate acidity, whereas a pH of greater than 7 indicates a base... And we don't want either as our drinking water!! 😂
