#2 is poorly worded. #3 is adrenal glands, which produce aldosterone and other hormones.

Here is the correct definition of Pleura, "The pleura is a thin, double-layered membrane that surrounds the lungs and lines the inside of the chest cavity. The two layers of the pleura are called the visceral pleura (which covers the surface of the lungs) and the parietal pleura (which lines the inside of the chest wall and diaphragm). The space between these two layers is known as the pleural cavity and normally contains a small amount of fluid that helps lubricate the movement of the lungs during breathing." As you can see, there is no mention of your imaginary sponge, what are referring to is the interstitial tissue of the lungs, which house the Alveoli and the capillaries and bronchioles that exchange Oxygen for Carbon Dioxide during respiration. Also Adrenal glands are so called from the Latin Ad Renal, literally above the Kidney. Adrenaline is an hormone they produce which you guys call epinephrine for some unknown reason. Adrenaline activates when the body is under threat, it is part of the survival tools for all mammals. Its main functions are to induce the flight or fight response, supply extra Oxygen and lactose to the muscles and substantial increase the Cardiac (Heart) output through increasing the pumping action of the heart, Increasing heart rate and blood pressure to pump more oxygen and nutrients to the muscles Dilating the pupils to improve vision. Dilating air passages in the lungs to increase oxygen uptake.
