The order of operations was followed. The answer is correct.
6 ÷ 2 × (1 + 2)
6 ÷ 2 × (3)
6 ÷ 2 is 3, 3 × 3 = 9
Note: division and multiplication carry equal weight and are always done in the order they appear in the equation from left to right.
Multiplication does not necessarily come before division.
