Un consejo: antes de entrar, es fácil observar si hay tales corrientes. Si a una ola rompiente "le falta un cacho", es decir, hay una extensión en la que nunca llega a romper, es muy probable que en esa zona haya una corriente que empuje mar adentro.
Pero si te sorprende, no intentes ganar por fuerza bruta porque te agotarás y morirás ahogado. La forma de salir es lateralmente: en vez de intentar ir hacia la orilla, hay que nadar en paralelo a la costa hasta salir de dicha corriente… una vez libre de ella podrás nadar cómodamente hasta la orilla.
