We all have unusual birthmarks, scars and blemishes which we believe to be unique. But what if other people who are not our relatives have the same scar on the index finger as we do?

Is there anything magical in it or is it nothing more than just a coincidence?

#1 A scar on an index finger

There are a lot of people who have the same scars on their left index fingers. This phenomenon has an explanation. If you are right-handed, you can easily cut your left index finger while cooking or working with woodworking tools.

#2 Your eyes have different eyesight

If you close one eye and read something and then close the other one and try to read the same, you might be surprised that your eyes see differently. The reason is that our brain has eye preferences. So, one eye is always dominant.

#3 You can't lift your right eyebrow

It's easy to lift both eyebrows or the left one. However you can't do the same for the right. Or it can be the opposite: you can't raise your right eyebrow. The reason is that our body is not symmetrical and the muscles work differently. There are people who can raise both eyebrows independently, though they are few in number.

#4 A birthmark on the knee, on the back or near the armpit

Some birthmarks disappear in the childhood, some remain for a lifetime. Usually they are found near the armpits or knees. The reasons for that phenomenon are still unknown.

#5 Blemishes on the left knee

Remember, how many times you have hurt your knees as a child. These scars are better seen on tanned skin. If you are right-handed, you'll probably have more blemishes on the left knee.

I can raise both eyebrows and have scars all over both arms. I have scars all over my body!

Got the scar (5 stitches from a slipped knife). My worst boo-boos did seem to all be on my left knee. Can't lift the right eyebrow. Do have different eye glass prescriptions for my eyes. I don't seem to have any birthmarks. Lots of freckles though.

Interesting, my eyes are quite different and have been since it was discovered I had myopia at the age of 11, the strange thing is that my dominant eye is my right eye but it is also my weakest eye, the spectacle lens for it being twice as thick as the one for my left eye - one optician expressed puzzlement at it as normally the dominant eye is the one with best vision.
