The world of food is wonderful! But not every dish is healthy and worth tasting. We will reveal the truth about some exotic food for you.

It's difficult to find a person who doesn't like traveling. Being in a foreign country we all want to see monuments, famous buildings, beautiful landscapes, visit museums and theaters and, of course, taste national cuisines. But some of the dishes that are served in this or that country can do harm and cause diseases. We doesn't want your holiday to be spoiled. That is why we prepared a list of exotic dishes that you should better not taste. Read and get only pleasant memories from your vacations.

#1 Fugu

If you are a daredevil then this fish is for you. It contains deadly amounts of tetrodotoxin which can prove to be lethal in many cases. If cooked properly this fish is not dangerous, but if not one who eats it may die.

#2 Scorpionfish

Scorpionfish is famous for its delicious taste, and fins that contain poison. Here again everything depends on a chef who should choose the right technology for cooking.

#3 Carambola

Carambola is quite a tasty fruit but you should better eat only a few pieces at a time. This star fruit contains lots of oxalic acid that can be very harmful to individuals suffering from kidney disease.

#4 Escamoles

This dish is made of eggs of the giant black Liometopum ants. It has a buttery nutty taste and a texture that resembles cottage cheese. Again it can be very dangerous for your health if it's not cooked properly.

#5 "Rotten cheese" Casu Marzu

This cheese is from Sardinia. It is made with the help of a special species of fly digest that accelerates the fermentation process. This cheese is not dangerous as it is, but the fly digests can cause gastrointestinal problems if accidentally eaten.

#6 Ackee

Ackee is a fruit from Jamaica. The flesh of it is edible and delicious only if the fruit was picked in a defined period of time. Unripe or overripe ackee fruit is poisonous.

#7 "Century eggs"

Those who have strong stomachs can taste century eggs without any fear. Chinese Chefs preserve chicken or duck eggs in a mixture of salt, lime, and ash for 100 days. Ready eggs have a jelly-like texture with a strong stench of ammonia.

#8 Stonefish

This is probably the most poisonous fish in the world. The thing is that this fish has extremely poisonous spikes in its fins. This venom causes severe pain, paralysis, and even death. But there still exist some daredevils who are ready to taste this fish.

#9 Rambutan

This exotic fruit can be rather dangerous too. It can cause allergies and even diarrhea. Besides, doctors advise eat only 4 - 5 fruits a day.

Never heard of problems with Rambutan, my family eat lots in season. I'm not so keen better fruits around, it's like a tough white grape.

Don't forget apples and apricots the seeds of both contain cyanide (and apricot stones look very like almonds).
