#1 In Iceland, if horses are taken overseas, they can't return back
This is because Iceland has few diseases and bringing in potentially contaminated livestock can be dangerous to existing populations. So basically Icelandic horses almost never leave the country.
#2 Have you ever seen your dog going around in circles? This strange behavior is actually evolved as a means of protection
Back in the day when all dogs were wolves they had to position themselves to be able to face or escape danger at a moment’s notice.
#3 Toothache is the only sensation your teeth can feel
The only thing that those particular nerves respond to is pain.
#4 Serotonin is essential for happiness ONLY when it’s in the brain
Outside the brain, this chemical is far less pleasant. Injecting serotonin in the skin is very painful and it’s actually a primary ingredient in wasp venom.
#5 Despite their name, grasshoppers actually predate grass
They evolved about 250 million years ago while grass only has a measly 55 million under its belt.
#6 People who have a strong and distinct mental monologue usually have strong visuals that accompany it
Some people don't have an internal monologue at all.
