ninakamwene, Pagans didn't call it Xmas, they celebrated the winter solstice . Roman Pagans celebrated Saturnalia. The Church decided to celebrate Christmas at the same time to help win over the Pagans.

In the 60s when I first started working, we worked 5 1/2 days a week. As for teenagers, I don’t know but my grandmother who got married at age 21 - her occupation was listed as “spinster”! I get a chuckle out of that!
