Suzanne McLaughlin, they Ctually smell better planted outside the front door. I hate it when the beautiful flowers are cut and put into water in the house. It starts smelling like a swamp and the flowers die. I'm looking at my mother's day flowers right now and feel sorrow because I know they are going in the garbage in a few days.

The rose hips bring back memories. 🌹 In the UK, during the second world war, rose hip syrup was allocated on the ration books for under 5yrs. olds, one bottle a month, one teaspoon a day. I remember it well as I was the one who had to spend a good part of a Saturday morning queuing up for it for my younger brother!
