#1 A small crab with pom-poms

It is Lybia tessellata or the pom-pom crab. It has very small claws. To protect itself from enemies it carries sea anemones, which are poisonous, all the time. Anemones are glad to cooperate, as long as they can find food easily.

#2 Scary-looking Tasmanian devil

If you see a Tasmanian devil like this, with its mouth open, it means the animal is full of fear and hesitation. A devil got its name for a horrific sound it makes when sees enemies are approaching.
If a Tasmanian devil is good in health, its tail is thick, while it stores its body fat in it!

#3 A snail with iron shell and foot

These fantastic creatures live in deep waters of the Indian Ocean, in hydrothermal vents. They've developed a three-layer shell that protects them from overheating. This exoskeleton is covered with iron as well as the snail's foot.

#4 Spiders and frogs are friends. Really?!

Actually, there are cases of mutualism between them. For example, tiny frogs (microhylids) make friends with the giant tarantulas. Spiders recognize these frogs and make them no harm. Why? First, microhylids might be poisonous to them. Second, these frogs protect spiders from insects that can harm spider's eggs. Frogs in their turn get protection from snakes.

#5 Slow Lorises' poisonous armpits

This sweetie can handle itself! There are glands on its arms that produce a toxic liquid if a slow loris licks it. Then it spits this poisonous liquid into its enemies.

It can stay motionless for hours! The position of their eyes give them an opportunity for 3D vision. Shoebills are very tall and somehow resemble dinosaurs.

It uses the mouth for it. Besides, pelicans can keep up to 8 gallons of water in their beaks while catching fish.

#9 Don't take a skink for a duck or a small dragon

If you hear a sound similar to that of a rubber duck, it might be a crocodile skink trying to give a fright to its enemy! Another interesting fact is that skinks drink with their head underwater.
