We used to think that in order to not get eaten by predators animals developed ability to run fast. If you move faster you'll have more chances that your life will be saved. However, some animals move very slow and that helps them to stay alive. So, if you are always in a hurry take a look at these creatures.
#1 Three-Toed Sloth
Three-Toed Sloths spend almost all their time on the trees. These animals are the slowest in the world. Their maximum speed is 0.24 kilometres per hour (0.15 mph). Living the slow life helps them to save energy.
#2 Starfish
Starfishes travel with ocean currents. They make very few movements on their own. Most starfishes have a speed of 15 cm (6 in) in a minute.
#3 Seahorse
This small marine fish has a top speed of about 5 ft (1.5 m) per hour. They can't move faster because of their body structure.
#4 Banana Slug
This mollusc has no shell. Its movements are not faster than 6.6 inches (17 cm) per minute.
#5 Giant Tortoise
Tortoises have the longest life span and are one of the slowest creatures in the world. Their speed is explained by their body weight. Thanks to their adaptation they can live without food or water for a year.
