And it’s now 2021. Have they done this? What about poachers?

As a member of WWF for many years I am very pleased to learn about this effort and hope that it comes to fruition. I have also been involved with my local zoo for many years and we have an Amur tiger who is indeed a majestic creature. Our zoo participates in the Species Survival program for a number of animals.

Nina Kamwene, do you think they will also stop buying our rhino horn? Fat chance. I'll believe this when I see it.

I certainly hope and pray that this eventuates. Esp with the reputation of the Chinese wildlife trade for consumption & “medicinal” purposes

I’m so glad someone is trying to save these beautiful animals, instead of allowing hunters to trophy kill. Very encouraging.

All very good and will they be culling to feed their thirst for animal parts which have been proven to have no medicinal value at all?

My hat is off to the Chinese. Its a marvelous plan and wish more countries would do the same thing to save animals of their country. Thank you China for what you are doing. We are all grateful for any ways and means to save animals around the world that are facing extinction.
