They say smart people aren't born smart. Anyone can acquire new knowledge every day and enjoy the process! Read on to find out more about the ways of getting smarter that are not boring at all.

Social deprivation negatively effects out cognitive abilities. Communication is an integral part of intelligence! During your day, get in contact with more people. For example, next time when you want to order a pizza, don't do it through a mobile app - make a call and talk to the operator. Do you need information about something? Don't google it, ask your friends who may know. Talking to other people is a very powerful brain exercise.

Documentaries are not boring. Thanks to the internet, we can now find and watch films about everything. Instead of watching feature films, dedicate one evening to a documentary on any topic you like. If you are a fan of pizza, watch a film about the art of making it. Do you like traveling? Watch a documentary about the history and specifics of the place you are going to visit next.

Drawing and painting cultivates brain activity in a special way. You don't have to be an artist to do it! Draw abstract lines and figures while you are thinking about something. This will also help you calm down and meditate.

You will train your memory by answering the questions and learn new facts about all spheres of life. Choose productive ways to kill time!

First of all, your interpretation of events can change with time due to your emotional state. When you write things down, your mind learns to hold ideas better. Moreover, we tend to take written goals more seriously. If you write everything you want down, it will be easier for you to achieve it. If you know what you should focus on now, you will make smarter decisions and develop "big picture" thinking.

If you have a lot of to do, spend 30 minutes on one task, then relax for 10 minutes and move on to another task. Studies prove that by taking a break, you increase your productivity and boost your chances of success. Give your brain a rest, and it will work better for you!

According to a study, bilingual patients with Alzheimer's handle the disease better than those who speak only one language. Choose a language you like and dedicate 15 minutes a day to it - it will improve memory abilities and thinking skills.

I used to read alot and had a very good memory. Well when the grandchildren came along I did not have a lot of time to read and my brain stopped working, and I became forgetful. I believe being online helps me to connect to people. I am not too happy with Facebook lately since no one seems to respond to my posts so I think I will find other ways to work on my brain and hopefully improve my memory. I know reading books helped me before, but after the grandkids came along there was little time to do anything and now that I am older my eyesight needs to be taken care of.
