I like to think what I do makes a difference - I teach pupils of 8 or 9 years of age from one of South Africa's primary school in a Black Township reading, writing and English comprehension - up to that age they have never spoken any English only their native language (nearly all had up to that time only spoken isiXhosa). Also foreign language students living in SA who have come there to get away from the civil war in the DRC amongst other war torn places. Finally I'm Bipolar and I have lectured on this to all the first year medical students at Stellenbosch University and written articles on Bipolarism as there is a total dearth of knowledge about this mental illness. Sadly many medical practitioners have no idea of the diagnoses so anything that will educate people on this has to be worthwhile South Africa has been good to me and I want to put something back to help people in the country less fortunate than I am
