For the Jack Reacher movies, Tom Cruise had to learn to be a foot taller.

Leticia Olsen, per my reply above...falling unexpectedly can easily cause cracked ribs. I'm sure she fell a lot with accelerated learning on pointe.

Allison Aspden, I have heard that in several articles in the past year. I'm sure she fell a lot learning to be on pointe. As skinny as she was, it wouldn't take much to crack a few ribs in an unexpected fall. No many years of pre point ballet to prepare her.

Allison Aspden, not so far fetched if when balancing on your toes you fall. I don't think I'd really want to be a ballerina as it us hard on the ties and feet in general.

I'm a lefty but l reckon learning new skills like playing tennis and the violin left handed when you are right handed must be particularly challenging

Some of these claims appear a bit far-fetched. Like the claim re Natalie Portman & her multiple cracked ribs.
