6 epic skills actors have to master for the role
In this post, we'll be showing you instances where favorite actors were forced to learn a new skill in order to perform iconic roles – some of these are absolutely unbelievable!
Sometimes it's not uncommon to forget that even our charismatic TV stars need to get their skill-learning game on. It's not always a bed of roses and they often have to learn skills that they never had any prior knowledge of.
Playing such unfamiliar roles in movies is a huge responsibility and may even take years of practice and hard work before these actors are able to perfect their skills.
#1 Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke - Dothraki language
Popular TV stars who featured in the Game of Thrones series as Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen respectively had to learn the Dothraki language from scratch and speak it fluently.
#2 Adrien Brody - Piano
For The Pianist, Brody had to sacrifice spending time with his loved ones in order to learn to play the piano extremely well. If you saw the movie, you know it was definitely worth it.
#3 Robert Downey Jr. - Violin and tennis left-handed
Downey Jr. had to master playing tennis and the violin as a lefty in order to fill in his role in the movie Chaplin.
#4 Channing Tatum - Tap dance
With no previous tap dance experience, Tatum had to train for 3 months to prepare for a 6-minute sequence in Hail, Caesar!
#5 Natalie Portman - Ballet
Natalie had to suffer through the pain of a serious rib injury while learning ballet for her successful role in Black Swan.
#6 Meryl Streep - Electric Guitar
About half a year before filming of Ricki And The Flash began, Meryl started training to know how to shred an electric guitar.
