We often blame circumstances or other people for our troubles, but we also tend to do it only to excuse ourselves for some negative behavior. Find out which terrible emotional mistakes can prevent you from living your life to the fullest right now.
Sometimes we feel happy when we finally get or do something highly approved by the society – but is it really what we need? Are we really happy about that? While trying to keep with others, people often fail to fulfill their own dreams. Think about that and ask yourself – are the goals you set for yourself really yours?
It's not a good thing not to let yourself feel sad, embarrassed, or disappointed. Avoiding such feelings doesn't make your life better or easier, as they don't go anywhere – say remain buried deep inside you, and sooner or later they become limiting your happiness.
Don't be afraid to have some unpleasant feelings – learn to deal with them and feel free to ask your loved ones for help. Ask yourself why you feel this way and try to determine the root cause of the problem. Try to interpret your situation in different ways. But always start with letting yourself feel your real emotions.
Real life is nothing like a movie or a book – good doesn't always win. Yes, bad things can happen to us, but expecting them all the time won't change the situation. Pessimism fuels unhappiness and becomes a habit. It makes you focus on the bad things.
The first step to get rid of your pessimistic thoughts is to realize how illogical they are – in reality, there are often many ways to deal with problems, we just need to look closer. Don't spent your time and energy on expecting the worst – think about what you can do to enjoy the good things to the fullest.
It's important to take care of yourself, but sometimes we tend to get lost in our ego. We care too much about what others think about us, trying to look perfect in their eyes and make everyone love us.
If you spend too much time thinking about others' behavior towards you and can't stop judging, you need to take things easier. Realize that even your closest people don't always think about your feelings: they have their own issues, and even if they let you down, it doesn't mean they did it on purpose. Try to think with their perspective.
The key is to stop feeling sad about the things that can be actually changed – even if it's incredibly hard. Instead of overthinking, at least try. Do the first step. What if you will find the strength to continue and reach your goal? In our imagination, things usually seem more complicated than they really are.
In case you've already tried everything or just decided not to try anymore – embrace it. Learn to be adaptable. If something in life is not possible, accept it and stop thinking of it as of some fault. Such is life, and sometimes we just need to let go. Otherwise it will bring you pain which will stop you from controlling what CAN be changed or improved.
Complaining of others behind their back may seem like not a big deal, but it negatively affects your self-comprehension. You slowly get used to talking about others in a way they should never find out about, which also changes your way of thinking. You start noticing bad things about others, taking the negative energy in. If you only say things about others that can be heard by them, you have nothing to worry about.
