Bravo, Asspinnato, for recognizing and pointing out that the two, disabilities and illnesses are different! I worked in Mental Health for twenty years and was absolutely dismayed by the people who aquainted the two. A lot of people, that I considered somewhat intelligent, did not know the difference between them!

Gaps between speaking and the length of them may have to do with how the person speaks, does he stutter, has he heard the statement or question before replying etc. It does not necessarily mean he is lying.

Pieter Staal, or maybe trying to recall the information from memory or maybe not knowing the answer to a particular question and trying to figure it out??

Abynum, do a little more homework. There are not many asylums left in existence. I worked in mental for twenty years and less than two percent of the people I worked with, and supported, had any violent behaviours. Any person, with the right situation, can be violent.

Number 7 works at cross purposes. The "myth" is about mental disabilities, but the "response" is about mental illness. Two different issues . . .

Thinking about it, all people have a mental illness - it depends on how extreme it is as to whether it might be dangerous. A person who is cool, calm and detached in a crisis situation suffers from a mental illness - but it benefits other people.

Thank you for that very informative trivia. I still believe eyes are the windows to the soul. It is hard to look at someone while lying unless you are staring or glaring at them. The whole body language show us what one is feeling. Observe.

It is absolute rubbish to think mentally disabled people are dangerous.
