La mayoría de los automóviles modernos (¿todos?) tienen una ranura o gancho incorporado en el interior de la puerta del tapón de depósito de combustible para mantener la tapa fuera del camino y evitar daños al cuerpo o la pérdida del tapón.
Hay algunos diseños son diferentes, pero todos cumplen la misma función.
