The easiest way to estimate human age of your pet

Have you ever thought how old would your pretty pet be if it was a human being? We have found the answer for this intriguing question. Check it out!

There is a myth that you can easily calculate the age of your dog multiplying its age by 7. The fact is that a one-year-old dog is already sexually mature while a seven-year-old human isn't ready for reproduction yet. Thus, we cannot compare dogs and people's age that easily. Let's not worry and finally resolve the mystery!

As the matching of the ages is different for each animal, it's not easy to learn all the numbers by heart. This is one of the main reasons to share the article!

Helpful in understanding our babies. We had three of our dogs die within 11 months. They were all ages 12 to 14 years of age. Since they were rescued dogs, we were not certain of exact age. It was hard to go from 4 dogs to 1 dog in one year's time. We still have our 8 year old Angel, and now have a new 2 year old Rosie. We still mourn our Pixie, Marie, and Dottie.

Nah! This might be generally true for physical age but certainly not behavioural age! Our beagle at 8 was as naughty as a 2 year old and as active as a 6 year old child!

Vetinarians can not agree on this post. I was told my 17yr old is approx 112 in human years not 84 as per the chart.

And I always thought it was approximately 7 years for both cats and dogs that equaled 1 human year.

My wee Snoopy died at just over 20 (mid-sized collie cross). Put him at just over 100 in human years.

John J Meirose, If you will notice after the second year for small dogs the increase is 4 human years for every dog year so after 16 which equals 80 then it would follow that 17 = 84, 18 = 88, 19 =92, and 20 = 96. I'm sure you can continue if this isn't far enough.

Now what we need is a definition of "small"."medium" and "large". i.e. how many pounds does a "small" dog weigh? etc.
