I have seen David at the Academy in Florence and the Pieta and Sistine Chapel in Rome, I feel very lucky as I live in Australia and had always wanted to see the amazing Italian art since studying art in High School.

I've seen the Sistine Chapel up close. It's absolutely breathtaking. So hard to believe it's so many 100's of years old !

My favourite artist; have been lucky enough to have seen the above works and many others. The Sistine chapel remains as my worst nightmare, hours of footslogging to be squashed in and unable to see much. Best view was online.

He was paroniac I think, to believe his ability to paint was done to humiliate him, It was only in his head.

Are there any artist of today's generation to compare or compete with Michelangelo . I find it hard to believe with all the talent presently available in the world . There's no one out there better than the past generations of artist . When we put people on a pedestal and never take them down for whatever reason .

I was awed Christmas 2019 when we were able to see some of his pencil sketches (specially displayed) at an exhibition. Very moving.

I read he didn’t like painting. He painted to buy marble to sculpture.
