These 7 bizarre things are considered normal in different parts of the world – from using two passports at the same time to having a personal sauna in the apartment.
#1 In all Nordic countries, it’s normal to leave babies to nap outside even when it’s winter. Babies peacefully sleep in prams on sidewalks and terraces.
#2 In Finland, it’s not unusual to have a sauna in an apartment.
#3 Live fishes are stored in people’s bathtubs before Christmas in Slovakia.
#4 In Ireland, lf you are offered food by a friend’s mum, you have to reject it a bunch of times for her to insist, before you accept the food.
#5 In Switzerland, everything has to be interpreted in at least three languages. Some cinemas in small villages have 3 sets of subtitles covering half of the screen.
#6 Russian residents have two passports. One is for internal usage, like the ID card in most countries, while the second passport is an international Russian Federation passport used for traveling.
#7 When you graduate from the university in Argentina, your friends and family attack you with food and paint.

My family from Ireland 8 generations ago still have that same tradition. Now I know the origin. But we still refuse about 6 times before we accept. And then say "yes, please".

When I was small my mother would put me out for a nap in my carriage in the winder. Eventually when my kids were small, I did the same on nice winter days. I live in Ottawa, Canada but was born 450 miles north Ottawa, so much colder.

We always put the baby out on the covered front porch for her nap in all kinds of weather. We also hung diapers out on the line in winter so they would freeze...no pampers in my motherhood days

vasily tchaikovsky, technically you are not supposed to have more than 1 passport for foreign travels, unless you have active visa in old passport... There is no rule about "different passports for different visas".

deborahpmercer, here in Southern USA, we wouldn't do that, unfortunately, for safety reasons, but we do take our children outside a lot, our yard, to a park, the beach, etc. I admire you for doing what you do.

IT's truth in Russia two passports local and fot traveling abroad and different passports from different travel agencies, plus to that different passports for different visas.at former time I had five passports at my pocket with different Visas. at US one passport and no visas needed ,only for China and Russia I got visas.

Here in the UK, my mother "weathered" (as she put it) my brother and me. We were always well wrapped up and it was never actually snowing/sleeting at the time, but for what it proves, we can now stand the cold better than most people.

My brothers and sisters all slept outside in the cold. Also my kids to some extent. My children would never leave their kids out side in case someone came along and stole them, even on the back porch in front of the window where I was sitting!

Julie Domaille, I am from an Irish family and we have never heard of this and we all think it is nonsense, whilst mothers tend to insist you eat something that is maternal care not a weird tradition. And you are right about “Mrs Doyle, ah gwan yer will, ah yer will...”
