1. Just keep going

If you continue going the right way, you'll get to the desired destination in the end. Hard work must be done successively. A man, who succeeds - is a man, who stays devoted to his idea and, despite the circumstances, keeps going to his goal.

2. Your friends do matter

Your friends are the prophecy of your future. You are going to the place, where they already are. It's a good reason to look for friends moving in the same direction with you. So surround yourself with hearts on fire!

3. Everything comes at a price

Culture Story: "It's easy to hate and it's hard to love. This is the basis for many things in our life. All that is good is hard to attain and it is much easier to get something bad"

That explains many things. It's easier to hate, to be negative, it's easier to make excuses. Love, forgiveness and magnanimity require a big heart, much intelligence and a lot of effort.

4. First, prepare your tools

Confucius said, "Success depends on preliminary preparation and without such preparation you are to fail". Whatever you do in life, if you want to succeed you must first prepare. Even the biggest failure may speed up your way to success.

5. It's not bad, if you made a mistake

Don't worry about trifles. Making a mistake is not a great crime. Don't let mistakes ruin your day.
Don't let the negative occupy your thoughts. There is nothing bad about making mistakes! Celebrate your mistakes!

6. Pay attention to consequences

Solomon said, "“Better is the patient man than the strong, and he who restrains his anger is more than he that takes a city”. Always remember to stay composed and think about consequences.

7. Amend

Culture Story: "If it is obvious that goals cannot be achieved, don't change the goals, change your actions"

If your goals seem unattainable this year, it's the right time to adjust your plan of achieving them. Set your sails of success and move slowly to your aim.

8. Anyone can teach you

Culture Story: "If I walk with two people, each of them will be a teacher for me. I will copy good traits of one of them and correct drawbacks of the other in me"

You can and should learn from everyone, either a cheat or a saint. Every life is a story, filled with lessons, ripe for harvest. For example, you can get something positive and useful for yourself from Will Smith's life lessons or you can pick knowledge from Einstein's gold lessons.

9. All or nothing

No matter what you do, do it with full devotion or don't do at all. To succeed in life you are required to give all the best you are capable of and then you will live without regrets.

I agree with much of what Confucius has stated about how to conduct your life. Wise words not to be taken lightly. Preparation is harder than finishing the job.

Lorraine Thomas, I fully agree! I don’t mind helping other people who might not know as much as I do. I just try to treat them the way I would like to be treated, whether they are intelligent or not. Doesn’t matter. I would rather socialize with poor, honest people with wonderful personalities than smart or rich snobs or aristocrats.

All so true. Being Bipolar and having gone through some very black times (trying to take my life) I can testify to what he says as all of this was relevant in my treatment and it's made a huge difference in my life. Another saying (not necessarily Confucius) is "my past does not control emotions or dictate my future".
