Пока снимался фильм «Кин-дза-дза!», генсеком СССР стал Константин Устинович Черненко. Так как его инициалы совпадали с приветствием инопланетян, Данелия решил подстраховаться и убрать его из сценария. Предлагались варианты «Ка», «Ко», «Кы» и другие, но пока выбирали, Черненко умер, и ничего менять не пришлось.
