'Toronto' is indeed derived from a word in the Huron (more correctly Wendat language). The word is tkoronto and it does not mean 'meeting place'; it means 'fishing wier' or 'fish trap' but throughout history referred to the area north of the present city, closer to Lake Simcoe, 60+ miles away.

London Bridge, in its latest incarnation is not further down the Thames, it is further up! Tower Bridge is the nearest to the open sea, and the only one capable of being opened.

Madi Marven, Wrong The previous London Bridge was sold and transported to America in 1968. It was named London Bridge at the time of the sale and continues to be named that,
