I think that many countries should follow the example of the nation we're talking about today. Let's read 5 facts that prove the Netherlands is the country of the future.

#1 It has the world’s first solar energy-powered bike road

The initial part of the road was inaugurated in the year 2015, with a length of just about 100 m. However, it is a great development and improvement for the building of roads in the nearest future.

The brain behind this assignment is so that solar energy derived from the lane is for the purpose of lightening up the streets and recharging electric vehicles. It can even be used to produce power for households.

#2 It has a town where cars are not in use

The town of Houten in the province of Utrecht is regarded to be the most secure city in the world. Its citizens don't drive cars!

In the 1980s, a good amount of people began to encourage one another as well as everyone else in the town to promote bicycle riding more, rather than driving cars around. Gradually, everyone in the city got used to cycling.

#3 There are no abandoned pets in the Netherlands

Lately, it has been discovered that the country has no stray cats and dogs. The ministry was successful in pulling this off without causing harm to animals by ensuring that the authorities passed rigid regulative laws against animal abuse in an attempt to uphold animals’ rights.

#4 There are charging points for electric vehicles located close to each other.

A major strong point of The Netherlands is its convenient transportation system. For this reason, in an attempt to put a stop to gasoline and diesel powered vehicles, recharging points were put in place in various units — and very open for citizens who use electric cars.

#5 The country has few prisons

As a result of the absence of inmates, it was reported that about 19 prisons were closed down in the Netherlands since 2009.

According to recent records, the rate of imprisonments in the Netherlands is about 163 people per 100,000.

It's too bad the U S A can't be like that. No cruelty to animals, so few prisoners, they have to CLOSE some prisons. I would definitely like to visit there one day.

So how big is the Netherlands, Rhode Island, Vermont, Delaware. Lot easier to do something like that in small compact country. Not Russia, China, India or US

I would love to visit the Netherlands. A very progressive country. We should take their example to heart. Empty the prisons of weed users, give them training in a trade. Regulate animal ownership to reduce the number of homeless animals and those killed in shelters. We can become solar powered in many ways. Let's get back to the envy of the world.

I’ve had the pleasure and good fortune to have travelled to The Netherlands twice. The first time - for 5 weeks of onsite work and then later for a 4 day holiday weekend. I greatly enjoyed my time there and the friends I made. The tulip fields near Keukenhof are amazing.

I forgot to add that my parents took me to Holland on July 13, 1971 to visit our relatives until Aug 1, 1971. My daughter Tanya and her friend Serena also visited Holland in July 1998. Holland is filled with endless cyclists 🚴, high fashions, barns with straw roofs, ancient buildings, smaller cars, herrings @ the markets, windmills, tulips 🌷 and more. It rains more often there than here in Ontario, Canada.

Lots of my relatives live in Holland. My parents were born and raised there before immigrating to Canada in the 1950s. The weather in Holland is more temperate than here in Canada.
