If the Central American countries named are so great, why are so many people leaving to come to USA? There is a good reason why these places are so inexpensive: no one wants to live ther!

They sound great to visit, but not to stay. I personally would not choose to live in a Communist country or other dictatorship. I was surprised to see China and Viet Nam at the top of the list.

Why have you put a picture of Christ the Redeemer in Nicaragua? Christ the Redeemer is in Brazil

LOL. 2 communist countries in Asia, 2 countries with the highest murder rates in the world, and Albania

Really? China and Guatemala? Whoever put this list together seriously needs further experience and knowledge. China is so overcrowded and polluted, and Guatemala consistently ranks as one of the worst countries to live in due especially to crime. I'm shaking my head!

Martin Scott, Christ the Redeemer in Rio has outstretched arms. The one above is Christ of the Mercy and is located in San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua.

These are all Third World pit holes, and three of them are Communist.

I'll stay in Canada thanks...I think it's the best place on earth and I know I'm biased but still very happy...I'd like to visit some of those places though.

Jack Dergousoff, My friend Diane and Matt were in Guatemala to meet their daughter Rachael who volunteered there years ago and found it eye opening. Armed guards were outside of the stores, banks, hotels, etc. In about 1994 or 1995, my friend Gord and his ex also visited Guatemala where she was born and raised.

#3 Is not the same as Christ the Redeemer in Brazil - in Brazil His arms are held out to the side. Never ever want to live in any of those or even visit - born and bred New Zealander - its beautiful here.

Larry Elsey, Good reasons for sure: dictatorships, intractable povertyy, poor services, massive underclass, high crime, death squads....one could go on and on. Nice places to visit...maybe....

I love Canada, where I have lived most of my life. I spent 1 1/2 years in Washington, DC, USA in 1975-76, where I attended Gallaudet University. I much prefer Canada to USA ! I love Hawaii, though. I spent Feb 1 to 7, 2012 in Hawaii, where I attended my daughter Tanya & Lincoln’s Feb 5, 2012 Maui wedding. I also spent Jan 25 to Feb 1, 2018 in Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii with Tanya, Lincoln, their 2 kids Isla and Finn and other relatives. My parents and I visited our relatives in Holland from July 13 to Aug 1, 1971. Holland is lovely, but too small.

The statue shown in the picture for Nicaragua looks nothing like the Christ the Redeemer in Andes that looks over Brazil and Argentina. Marbayrod needs to pull up a photo of this statue and take another look at both the statue and the landscape that it overlooks.
