This architectural masterpiece will make your jaw drop once you are inside

Shah Cheragh is translated from Persian as "the King of the Light". These breathtaking pictures prove that such name suits this mosque perfectly.

Shah Cheragh is a funerary monument located in Iran. The mosque is world-famous for its stunning interior: the walls of the monument are decorated with millions of small shiny fragments. Historians state that the tomb was built in the 14th century, however the past of the site has always been surrounded by legends. Today pilgrims and tourists travel far to spend a minute in such a magical place of worship.

Watch this amateur video that precisely conveys the atmosphere inside of the mosque:

Would you like to visit this mosque? Does it remind you of Oz too?

Janice DeLong, No, as it was built in the 14th century, America can’t claim credit for it.

I'm an agnostic verging on being an atheist so religion is quite simply not my thing. Having said that the comment that this would make a good place for a sci-fi movie is surely misplaced. I would have thought the Shia Muslims in Iran would rightly be up in arms at such a suggestion. Yes many Christian places of worship are used in movies (Lincoln Cathedral in one of Dan Brown's films) but Muslims seem to see things in a different light and I can't see the Iranians agreeing to that - especially in the light of Trump's views

Is author correct stating the tomb is also considered to be a mosque?
