Amazing photos but the saddest one was of the young children working instead enjoying their lives Bonnie

All amazing photos but the one with the Native American looking at the railroad tracks made me tear up. The white man stole their land & look what they've done with it, DESTROYED it. The land, wildlife, water, air. SMH

Conrad O'brien and the bear - fantastic. What a great man. Also loved the World Trade Centre pic, men with steel nerves, makes me shiver thinking about being up there!! Great pics all of them. Thanks for sharing

bina sarmah, When there was an auto accident in Holland in 1914, my late grandma was 10 and her older late sister was 12. My grandma passed away in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 3 days shy of her 78th birthday on July 12,1982 when I was 24. Her sister died @ about 88 in Holland in 1990. Her hubby died @ 92 there on Dec 6??,1994.

Seeing child labor is just horrific and wrong, makes me very angry. Doesn’t matter how long ago it was. The Indian standing there makes me very sad wish we knew what he was thinking.

I found the WTC picture very moving, because I remember going for a drive up to near Washington Rock, in NJ with friends, every week or so, to see how the WTC was growing. Of course we could only see it on a clear day, and we passed a pair of binoculars around. I also found the picture of those working children sad. I know, times were different then, but those children, had no childhoods!

Julie Domaille, yes that one was sad and so many are still victims of child labor and other more horrific forms of abuse. I got queasy just looking at the photo of those guys so high in the air.

Regarding DUELS. They were quite frequent during the 70's in Uruguay and many of them were "pour la gallerie". But an expert master of arms once told me that if the duelists really wanted to terminate their foe, the duel would be fought with pistols. It is very unlikely that a duelist be killed in a "first blood" saber duel and I personally can tell that a couple of saber -fough duels were actually "pour la gallerie", for political reasons. Also, in pistol duels, the master of armas usually charges the pistols for the first shot with too much powder, and that makes the shot to go high over the head of the target because of the recoil. Subsequenty, the second shot is loaded with little powder, and the bullet went too low to cause mortal damage. A Uruguayan politician staggered after his enemy's second shot and was believed to be wounded, but it was only a slight touch on his right knee.

I love pictures of history. I didn't like knowing children under 12 worked. Also, Mr.O'Brien greeting a bear and he was close...I am wondering if he made it through that ok.
