10 adorable bird species that look like cartoon characters
I bet you didn't even know some of these bird species existed. Let's take a look at the most hilarious pictures of them and learn some basic facts about these funny winged creatures.

#1 Black-and-yellow broadbill
This adorable birdie lives in Southeast Asia: it's found in the tropical forests of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and other countries. The maximum length of its body is around 15 cm or 6 inches. Small and cute!
#2 Blue-footed booby
This funny bird with an amusing name is native to subtropical and tropical regions of the eastern Pacific Ocean. It's easily recognizable by its bright blue feet and a hilarious face.
#3 Burrowing owl
Burrowing owls, native to North and South America, are excellent night hunters – from dusk till dawn, they use their perfect night vision to stalk and ambush their prey. I guess that's why the one in the picture is sleepy during the day!
#4 Atlantic puffin
This species is the only puffin native to the Atlantic. It's also known as the common puffin. This bird can change the color of its beautiful beak: during winter, it fades to grey, but in the spring it turns bright orange again.
#5 Spectacled eider
This funny sea duck lives on the coasts of Siberia and Alaska. Only males look that funny and have white goggles. Females are just entirely brown.
#6 Andean cock-of-the-rock
This bird is also known as tunki. It's native to Andean cloud forests. Males have disk-like crests and bright orange plumage.
#7 Rufous potoo
You may have already seen the pictures of potoo birds on the internet: because of their awkward appearance, they've recently become quite popular. You can learn more about these funny creatures (and find more pictures) in this article.
#8 Tawny frogmouth
Just look at these birds – they're always grumpy! This species of frogmouth is native to Australia and Tasmania.
#9 Long-wattled umbrellabird
This bird with a stylish haircut lives in Ecuador and Colombia. Because of the habitat destruction, the long-wattled umbrellabird is classified as vulnerable.
#10 Bee hummingbird
The bee hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world. I believe it's also one of the cutest creatures on our planet.
