Having been myopic all my life I was accused of reading too much, or under the blankets with a torch, but actually when first diagnosed the optician said it was inherited. In fact we have never been able to find an ancestor who needed glasses from an early age - the only relative we knew of was my grandfather and he was long sighted. I have since claimed it is because of my massive brain which didn't allow enough room for my eyes to focus properly!

Yes for burns / scolding cool water from a tap immediately! When my son was about 2 yrs he grabbed nanna’s boiling tea pot & it poured over his neck & torso. Scary horrific to say the least! I ran him to the bath & kept cool water over his body for at least half an hour, with him screaming. Then grabbed wet flannels to place on him, raced him to the doctor. By pouring the cold water on him, my Scott healed with no scarring 🥺🙏🏼

Rudy Datoc, another myth. Flour should not be used to treat burns as it will not help cool the burn and may cause additional pain, lead to an increased risk of infection and make it more difficult for a medical professional to assess and treat the wound.
