Yes, I wear glasses for long distance seeing, and read perfectly without them. I do eyes exercises that have helped me be 50+ and still be reading small print. The cilliary muscles that hold the lenses do need to be exercised daily. Looking far, close, left, right should be done all the time.

I wear glasses and it doesn't surprise me that most glasses are made with plastic lenses. My glasses would be way too thick and way too heavy to stay on my nose if they were glass lenses.
