The oceans are our guarantee of life on the planet. We must stop using them as a rubbish tip or they will decline in their efficiency to assist our atmosphere to continue life support.

To Wayne Roberts If you dived to 90 meters that is the threshold of 2 atmospheres of oxygen and O2 poisoning. At 130 meters it is about 3:atmospheres of oxygen and on normal air at 20%oxygen would be fatal. The only possible way to achieve this is with a special breathing mixture that would have to replace most if not all of the nitrogen and substantially reduce the percentage of oxygen in the breathing mixture to avoid 3 atmospheres of oxygen at depth. Such a mixture would hardly contain enough oxygen to sustain life at surface pressure of only one atmosphere. 130 meters of depth is about 15 atmospheres absolute. 90 meters of depth is about 10 atmospheres absolute.

Sad to say that plastics are being found in these depths.
