on items that are OPTIONAL - simply boycott them and if the movement gets large enough, change will happen - popcorn - rediculous; eye glasses - shop around; wedding dresses - ok , pay the price but have it designeed so it can be easily modified into a cocktail/evening dress; Phone - keep yours another year and then by a xx.1 lower model, just one model out of date; its just called practical use of Your money instead of being sold on "you ain't cool if you dont have the latest" . Only the consumers are the fools

Production cost-does it include cost of the store, cost of the shipping, salary of the clerk, cost of the advertising? Plus a list of other things that each of you can probably add to the final cost.
