#1 Exotic shorthair

These cats don't like strangers but really love and trust their owners.

#2 British longhair

It is the best cat breed for kids. British longhair cats are patient, kind and a bit lazy. They can easily get along with other pets. However, these cats don't like strangers to play with their toys.

#3 Abyssinian

Abyssinian cats are quite active and curious. They will be happy to participate in all your household chores.

#4 Russian blue

They love to play and be a part of what the owner is doing, tail along him, play and participate in all family activities during the day and sleep around at night.

#5 Burmese cat

They are brilliant baby sitters - very patient and non-aggressive. Burmese cats are active and curious but not too much so don't worry. They meow only to the point.

#6 Siamese cat

Siamese are eager for communication. They are loving and kind but never make them do something against their will!

#7 Somali

Somali are very active, they like to play with anyone. A high level of energy and attention makes this breed ideal for training. Though they like to get people's attention, Somali don't want to to receive it from other pets.

These smart sharp-witted cats are easily trained, they like to play "Fetch!", ride in a car. The Savannah can walk on a leash. They are sociable, get along with other pets in a house. If you have a dog, Savannah may become a good friend for your pet.

They are very smart, calm but active. These cats by their nature like companies and get along with absolutely everyone.

#10 Ragdoll

This calm breed is one of the best breeds for children. Cats don't scratch or bite, like to follow their owners. They are smart enough to recognize owners' intonation. Ragdoll cats are strongly attached to people and don't like to be alone.

#11 Bengali

Bengali are smart, active, playful, very friendly and social cats. They are eager for communication and like to play with water.

#12 Birman cat

Quiet lady-like cats with good manners. They can play and gambol but if you pick them up they immediately relax, gladly accepting the affection of the owner. Birman cats are extremely obedient: they won't misbehave for nothing and demand attention if you are busy with something.

#13 Maine Coon

They are smart, friendly and easily trained. Despite their rather threatening appearance and huge size, Maine Coon cats are incredibly loving animals. These cats are really pleasant to deal with, they are excellent companions in travelling, can walk on a leash and even learn a few commands.

Photos do not load. I had 3 tabby cats a mother and her 2 daughters all very affectionate and friendly. The last one (daughter) died in 2020 aged 20.

I have had cats ( or rather as my vet said, they find you... you don't select them!) most of my adult life, some mixed "mutts" siamese with calaco with beautiful blue eyes, some gray tabbies, some black/white and currently a red/orange tabby a "garfield" relative. All female that I neuter and stay with me in my large yard. Never had more than two at a time. The current one, Canela , is a talker, loves to hunt , follows me everywhere and great companion. Grew up with anti cat people but somehow the felines found me when I moved away from family of origin into my own place on my small tropical island. Thanks for this info
