You won't believe this 100-year-old massive theater is now a popular bookstore
Whether you are fond of books or not you need to see this amazing building!
Grand Splendid Theater was built almost 100 years ago, back in 1919. It was founded in honor of the end of the First World War. Later the theater was turned into a cinema, and in 2000 - was converted into a unique bookstore called El Ateneo Grand Splendid.

Try not to drop your jaw once you are in!
The theater opened in 1919 and could accommodate 1050 spectators.
Just take a loot at all these books. A perfect place for a bookworm.
In 2008, The Guardian placed El Ateneo Grand Splendid as the second most beautiful bookstore in the world.
