When I down sized from a large home to a three room apartment I started doing all these things! It's amazing how much time for myself I have now! But I'm also retired which makes a big difference. Good tips!

Do Americans dry all their laundry in a dryer? If so, why? I’m no eco warrior, but if so, what a monumental drain this must be on the electricity grid. It poured rain here yesterday and I was forced to use the dryer, but I only put the underwear in it. Everything else I hung on a collapsible clothesline undercover on the back patio. There’s nothing like the smell of clean laundry as it comes off the clothesline on a sunny day.

I wrap soap in the facecloth and wipe it around the tub as the water is draining out after a bath. Then, rinse it. Haven’t had to clean the tub for over 40 years now...

I have Mr.Clean Sponge in the shower in a container and as soon as I finish showering, I clean off the shower doors and wall with the sponge and no accumulation of soap suds and no scrubbing afterwards.

Great list, most of which I try to do daily! Making the bed first has always started my day.

Oh, and one more tip, put a container of fresh flowers (or even greenery), however humble, somewhere. It makes a house a home. And Chuck it out when it's dead.

Bear in mind that a bed needs a good airing as we lose about half a pint of sewat during the night! I air ours for 1-2 hours with windows open.

This is all things I do everyday anyway. I have always made the bed. Even when I was a small child and I never have dirty dishes. Dishes are done as you use them. Even at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I like a place for everything and everything in its place. And my husband of 55 years has done super at helping me keep it that way.

Joy Holbrook, I dry about it all. When it hangs to dry, it gets all stiff and is not as nice.

Joy Holbrook, Depends upon whether you have allergies or not. Drying clothes outside when the pollen is flying around, is a doomsday for someone with allergies.

Joy Holbrook, That would be fabulous except I have neighbors who walk their dog or sit in their yard and smoke. Then those fabulously smelling clothes stink of the different cigars and cigarettes

Have clean daily which is a touch up. If you pick up something, put it up so you don't have to touch but once!!
