Our world is full of strange and mysterious animals and plants. Perhaps, the most unusual ones are transparent animals. Their bodies lack pigmentation, that is why they look like glass. As a rule, “crystalline” animals use their super power to hide from danger.

#1 Transparent Frog

These frogs live in Venezuela. They are quite small: 2-8 cm long. Glass frogs’ skin is lime green, but the bellies are transparent. That allows us to see the system of organs.

#2 Glass Octopus

This octopus lives at a depth of about 100 meters. It's hard to believe but this animal is the smartest among invertebrate ones: it can analyze, remember and learn.

#3 Transparent Butterfly

#4 Transparent Juvenile Surgeonfish

This fish lives near New Zealand. It can be up to 30 Cm (12 inches) long. And it is very popular among aquarium fish.

#5 Macropinna Microstoma

#6 Transparent Sea Cucumber

This sea cucumber lives at a depth of 2,750 meters in the ocean. It uses special tentacles to move, but as they are very small, its speed is about 1 meter in 2 minutes.
