Adding salt to boiling water will increase the temperature. However, the amount of salt you would reasonably add to cooking water will barely make any difference. In order to make a noticeable difference you would have to add way too much salt. And I’m still throwing out the closed mussels.

Barbara Gilberts, Sorry, but you are mistaken about the oil. All oil will do is float on the top. It has no effect on the pasta.

Donna Curry, salt increases the boiling point of the water which in turns lessens the cooking time.

I don't put oil in my pasta, I only use salt and it doesn't stick...I read that somewhere

I think some answers were incorrect I would NEVER eat an unopened after cooking mussel and also its true if you add olive or any oil to cooking pasta it doesn't stick together so don't agree with those answers
