I would guess that some of the alternative meanings to some spellings was not considered. For example, cosy and cozy are a comfortable place or a sleeve for a drink container.gray and grey are a color or personal family name.

Looks like the American Spellers dont know which is American or English. Like others I use received British and avoid US spellings as they cause mispronunciation (especially the misspelled "Paedophile" which most Americans and too many Australians mispronounce as Ped - o -file when it has nothing to do with feet and is correctly pronounced as Pee-doh-phile). Noah Webster should have left the spelling as it already was, as it was fine, and had a Greek background.

Absolute rubbish! You tell me I'm 100% American?? No way. I'm 100% New Zealander who spells like the British. If you think my Kiwi spelling is American, why do I get told in other quizzes my spelling is wrong because I don't spell the American way??
