Couldn’t have been “wronger” if they’d tried! 🤣 We’re British & German (not North American via the Bering Straits, Native Americans). 👏

On my mother's side, J. Kipp (Dutch) married Maria de la Madeira (Portuguese/Spanish) and arrived in New Amsterdam in 1632. On my Dad's side Geovani Eugenio D'Aura (Sicilian) arrived in U. S. prior to 1900 and later married Elizabeth Pettit (French).

Traced our ancestors from both my moms and dads sides. My family came over from France. One side in1590 and the other in1595. Don't have any any asians in the family except the one my nephew married few years ago.

My paternal grandpa jumped ship in 1904 to enter the country illegally! He changed his name and we have lived under the assumed name ever since! I have used two DNA heritage companies traces and neither has found the prior family name! So much for accuracy——

earlepg, I thought the very same thing. For some reason I thought it would be more specific. All grands and one parent were born in Poland. They all came through Ellis Island.

Africa it is. I am from Kenya East Africa the cradle of present human genome. A woman we call Mumbi, our first mother, known as Lucy to the British from 3.2 million years ago was found in E. Africa. All the men on the planet have her mitochondrial DNA. How do I know this, I studied genetics as a pre-med.
