Especially when you consider Carter did more AFTER his presidency then he did in his one term. And the fact that if he survives the Georgia summer, come October he will be the first former U.S. President to reach 100 years old.

Monroe should be obscure because the so-called "Monroe Doctrine" was penned by his Secretary of State(the next president, John Quincy Adams) and he just stole the credit for it.

How can U.S. Grant be obscure when he's on the $50 bill?

theotishaynes, but not necessarily what they looked like. I know some of what each did, but don’t know their faces.

Jonathan Jobe,
How quickly we forget the good men do.
After taking office, LBJ won passage of a major tax cut, the Clean Air Act, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. After the 1964 election, Johnson passed even more sweeping reforms. The Social Security Amendments of 1965 created two government-run healthcare programs, Medicare and Medicaid.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 is a landmark piece of federal legislation in the United States that prohibits racial discrimination in voting. It was signed into law by President Lyndon B.

Anne Tisdell, Not McKinley. He completed a full term and was not assassinated until early in his second term.

I'm glad Hayes and Garfield were on separate questions. I cannot tell them apart.

Got them all. I knew almost all of them for sure. Educated guess on one or two. All were not obscure.

buhlemann, I'm sure they're not, although they may be for non-Americans.
