Can you answer these basic numeracy questions?

Eve, there is a real advantage to metric units: my weight in kg is a lot smaller number than my weight in pounds! A while back, there was one of the funniest descriptions of a colonoscopy I have ever read. Among MANY other roll-on-the-floor statements, the author said he was instructed to take a liter of a foul-tasting solution, and went on to say, "For those of you who do not know the metric system, a liter is equivalent to 32 gallons of liquid!" Anyone who has ever had to choke that stuff down and then experience the consequences of doing so can WELL understand what he was saying!

Unfortunately, I am one of those people who actually missed the switch to metric and tend to still think in inches, pounds and miles...and I'm at an age where I probably always will
