Dorothy Wirag, An organ is defined as a collection of tissues that structurally form a functional unit specialized to perform a particular function. It is considered an organ because it contains several types of tissues and a membrane and it covers the body. The skin is the largest organ of the body and includes associated organs and derivatives of the skin such as hair, nails, glands, and specialized nerve endings.

Teresa Travis, The diaphragm is indeed an organ. An organ is defined as a collection of tissues that structurally form a functional unit specialized to perform a particular function. I think the diaphragm qualifies as an organ, without which you couldn't breathe.

Pat Wells, The diaphragm is indeed an organ, as well as tendons and the thyroid. An organ of the body is defined in biology as a collection of tissues that structurally form a functional unit specialized to perform a particular function. Without the diaphragm, you could not breathe. I'd say it qualifies as an organ. The thyroid and tendons all have specialized functions. They too are organs.

11 / 11. Amazing job! You nailed it. Not surprised. Quite a straightforward quiz. Don’t think that the diaphragm is an organ though!
