What a bizarre collection of questions, most having little to do with actually being a physician. None of those tv shows made me want to become a doctor, I did it because I love science and medicine and research.

Don’t you need parental consent to treat a teenager?

When I was young every little girl wanted to be a nurse...I did not...I wanted to be an accountant, lol. It seemed to be more fun to play with adding machines than look after sick people...I'm still like that...I'd rather learn about new technology than look after someone...some people are meant to be and some are just not.

8/10. Not a DR. A retired mental health nurse.

I missed the one about the TV show - I never saw any of them. I also disagree about the mole. Removing a mole just because the patient is worried is not good medicine. If there is even a hint of the mole being irregular, or story suggests recent onset/growth, then, by all means, biopsy it, but sometimes good medicine is not knowing how to do a procedure, but knowing when not to do it. All this, of course needs to be discussed with the person in front of you; procedures should not substitute for talking to your patient.

I got 7 of 10 and you say that I could very well be a doctor. I am now 81 years old so it’s too late for me to become a doctor. My initials are DRH so I could be called Doctor H. I actually worked in a body shop for 30+ years so you could call me Doctor of automobiles. Does that work?

It depends on what country you're in as to how many years in training - and it wasn't specific enough about whether to include the on-going training after the initial medical degree (i.e., interneship, registrar etc).

There was no TV show that peaked my interest in becoming a doctor. I was born with a congenital condition and a group of doctors saved my life. I wanted to give back to society.

Apparently I have what it takes to be a doctor. If I'd known medical school was a 10 question trivia quiz, I'd have hung out a shingle years ago.

No American Soap Opera ever made me want to be a Doctor, just my family.
